User Content & Listing Accuracy Policy
This policy explains ownership, permitted use, accuracy responsibilities, and removal rights for content submitted to RentThyme.
User ownership and platform licence
Users retain ownership of content they submit to RentThyme, such as listings, photos, documents, messages, notes, maintenance records, application information, and vendor communications. Users grant RentThyme permission to host, store, display, transmit, format, process, back up, secure, and use that content as needed to operate, protect, support, and improve the platform.
Rights and consent
Users must have the rights, authority, consent, and lawful basis needed to upload, share, store, or publish content. This includes property photos, lease documents, identification documents, income documents, tenant/applicant data, vendor communications, and any personal data governed by the Jamaica Data Protection Act or other applicable laws.
Accuracy standards
Users must not submit false, misleading, discriminatory, defamatory, infringing, fraudulent, manipulated, unauthorized, or unlawful content. Rent amounts, currency, availability, property details, photos, screening notes, payment records, and communications should be accurate and kept reasonably current.
Prohibited content
- Fake listings, impersonation, stolen photos, manipulated property images, or misleading rent/availability claims.
- Discriminatory housing content, harassment, threats, scams, malware, or unlawful screening instructions.
- Documents or personal data uploaded without authority or used outside legitimate rental administration purposes.
Platform action
RentThyme may remove, restrict, preserve, review, or disclose content where needed for safety, security, fraud prevention, legal compliance, dispute handling, support, regulatory requests, or policy enforcement.
