Data Protection
An overview of how RentThyme approaches the handling, storage, and protection of the data entered into the platform.
Our approach
RentThyme is built so that landlords, property managers, staff, tenants, and vendors can manage rental data with role-based access and clear boundaries. Data protection is treated as an ongoing responsibility shared between RentThyme and the account holders who enter records.
Data handling
- Data is organized by owner/workspace so each account only accesses its own properties, tenants, leases, charges, and documents.
- Access is governed by authentication, role-based permissions, and database/storage rules.
- Records are used to operate the rental workflows the account holder configures.
Storage and processing
Data may be stored and processed using cloud hosting, database, storage, email, and notification providers. Some providers may process data outside Jamaica. Account administrators should maintain a record of the subprocessors they rely on.
Your responsibilities
Account holders are responsible for granting staff access appropriately, keeping credentials secure, uploading only data they are authorized to process, and honoring requests from the tenants and vendors whose data they manage.
Requests
Data access, correction, export, and deletion requests can be submitted through the Data Request Center.
